D' Luxe Designs Giveaway - Beaded Cuff

If you are like me, you are going "crazy for cuffs". To kick off the debut of my new beaded woven cuffs, I am sponsoring a giveway.

Each cuff has been designed by utilizing the herringbone stitch, also known as the ndebele stitch.

The Ndebele stitch is a traditional African beading stitch used by the Ndebele tribe of South Africa. The Ndebele beaders often work without patterns or instructions and produce stunning beaded collars, jewelry and dolls.

My cuff bracelets are designed with over a thousand tiny delica and firepolished beads which have been sewn together in some of this season's hottest color palettes. The cuff measures 1.5 inches wide and 7.5 inches in length.

Based on the reaction from friends and family to the new designs, I am happy to give a cuff to one of my blog readers. To become eligible, just submit a comment on my blog and leave your email address.

Don't wait too long, as this giveaway will end on May 5, 2009. US entries only.

For designs for purchase, please visit my online jewelry shop.

I thought I would correct you on one thing. The Ndebele are NOT from South Africa. They are from right here in Zimbabwe.

Their language is siminilar to Zulu but their homeland is in the southern part of Zimbabwe, and it is called Matabeleland.

Besides these beadworks, they do very good diamonds designs on their huts in the rural areas.

I am also proud to say that one of my friends is married to a Khumalo, a member of the original royal family established by King Mzilikazi in Bulawayo, which is now the second largest city in Zimbabwe, after the capital, Harare.

Nice beadwork!!
