Just in time for back-to-school shopping and the fashionistas who are ready to work their Fall wardrobes, fashion designer Rachel Roy has launched Rachel Rachel Roy, designed exclusively for Macy’s.
Rachel Rachel Roy is a "little sister" to her Rachel Roy Collection, which she launched in 2004 to critical acclaim from fashion insiders. Her new collection is a joint venture with Jones Apparel Group, Inc.
Not bad for a young woman who started as an intern at Rocawear. Rachel later worked her way to Creative Director of the label before branching out on her own. She was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of American two years ago and has seen her creations worn by First Lady Michelle Obama, Tyra Banks and Eva Mendes.
Offering designer-infused items at affordable prices, Rachel designed the collection for Rachel Roy’s younger sister, expressing a fresh version of glamour and youthfulness that reflects today's urban sophistication. Elements of downtown cool and uptown chic are blended – pattern mixing, pairing of opposites, and individualism. Bright patterns and unique prints are also seen in the collection. A key group focuses on a graffiti print featured in select apparel, shoes and handbags in stores now. The Rachel Rachel Roy customer can find her whole wardrobe in the collection from chunky sweaters to t-shirts with great details, print leggings, leather bombers and party dresses for all occasions.
The line retails from $59 to $299 for sportswear, $79 to $199 for footwear, $40 to $195 for jewelry and $69 to $109 for handbags.
Rachel Rachel Roy is available now exclusively in select Macy’s stores and later this month on macys.com. For more on Rachel's designs, please visit http://www.rachelroy.com.

D' Luxe Hair - D' Luxe Lace Wigs Launches

If anyone wonders why this blog has been so quiet lately, it's because I've launched an online store for luxurious lace wigs. It is called D'Luxe Lace Wigs. I still design jewelry and cards, I just looking more fabulous when I create.
If you've never heard of a lace wig, you're not alone. In the past lace wigs were used mainly by celebrities and people who suffered from hair loss due to medical problems.
But recently, celebrities like Beyonce, Oprah, Wendy Williams and Tyra Banks are making lace wigs more widely popular. A lace wig is nothing like a traditional wig. They are so realistic that you can be sitting right next to someone and not know they are wearing a wig.
A lace wig is built on a very sheer lace cap, and the key feature is that at the hairline, and when parted, a lace wig looks incredibly natural, as if the hair is growing right out of the scalp. The lace is adhered to your skin and disappears, you can even wear a lace with in a a high ponytail or up do.
Say goodbye to thin hair or unrealistic hair weaves and hello to luxuriously natural hair with a lace wig from D'Luxe Lace Wigs - Your style secret.

D' Luxe Book - Exactly As I Am by Shaun Robinson

She's won an Emmy, written columns for popular magazines and of course, is the weekend co-host and a correspondent for Access Hollywood, but when Shaun Robinson sat down to write her first book, she decided to not pen her manuscript about the glitz and glamour of the entertainment world.
Instead, after receiving questions from young women across the country who desperately wanted to be like their celebrity idols, Shaun decided to write a book offering self-esteem boosting words of wisdom from her own life and with the help of a host of celebrities.
In Shaun's book, "Exactly As I Am", she shares her own stories, as well as those from Oprah Winfrey , Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Indie Arie, Meredith Vieira, Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson, the latter who revealed a school play director once told her, her voice was the best, but the part went to someone else because of her weight.
Through this rich tapestry of voices, women of all ages, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds explore how to stay grounded and develop positive self-esteem, something Robinson calls “your ticket to freedom and making your dreams come true.” They also discuss the importance of mentors and friends, being able to laugh at oneself, and giving back to others. The collected wisdom of shared experiences in "Exactly As I Am" is designed to give every girl and woman the opportunity to dream big, stay strong, and remain true to herself. Available at your favorite book retailer.

Looking to satisfy the desire for "red carpet hair" at home, celebrity hairstylist and beauty expert Billy Lowe has launched his own luxury hair care line. Billy, who has worked with numerous Hollywood A-List stars and appeared on such hit reality shows as TLC's "10 Years Younger and "Extreme Make-over," is no stranger to celebrity style.
The line contains two shampoos, two conditioners and seven styling products. The key ingredients in the line include Asian sugar, which repairs and nourishes hair from within, and soy proteins to help strengthen hair and restore lost amino acids.
"The solutions that I was presented with were anything but complicated. Many other manufacturers offered hundreds of products and the whole process was overwhelming. What I wanted for my clients was a clean and simple line that offered outstanding professional results. Now, people can have red carpet hair just like my celebrity clients no matter where they live," stated Lowe.

D' Luxe Designs Giveaway - Beaded Cuff
If you are like me, you are going "crazy for cuffs". To kick off the debut of my new beaded woven cuffs, I am sponsoring a giveway.
Each cuff has been designed by utilizing the herringbone stitch, also known as the ndebele stitch.
The Ndebele stitch is a traditional African beading stitch used by the Ndebele tribe of South Africa. The Ndebele beaders often work without patterns or instructions and produce stunning beaded collars, jewelry and dolls.
My cuff bracelets are designed with over a thousand tiny delica and firepolished beads which have been sewn together in some of this season's hottest color palettes. The cuff measures 1.5 inches wide and 7.5 inches in length.
Based on the reaction from friends and family to the new designs, I am happy to give a cuff to one of my blog readers. To become eligible, just submit a comment on my blog and leave your email address.
Don't wait too long, as this giveaway will end on May 5, 2009. US entries only.
For designs for purchase, please visit my online jewelry shop.
